A teenage actress and pop star rises to dizzying fame spurred by a Disney TV show and a seemingly untarnished, virginal, old-fashioned good-girl image, only to find herself mired in a sex scandal.

It's not the Britney Spears story, or Christina Aguilera's, though both fit the story line. It's not even Hillary Duff's story.

This time, the tale belongs to Miley Cyrus.

Soon the teenage star was emulating her onscreen persona on stages, opening as Hannah Montana for The Cheetah Girls on tour and performing at Disney concerts.



After the successful release of a soundtrack in late 2006, it became apparent that the 14-year-old singer had the rock-star potential of her onscreen alter-ego. "Hannah Montana" was the first-ever soundtrack to debut at No. 1 on Billboard's Top 200.

At left, Cyrus makes an appearance on MTV's Total Request Live with "High School Musical" star Ashley Tisdale.



In the fall of 2006, Cyrus, performing as Hannah Montana, rocked sold-out venues across the country in her first 22-city tour.



Eight months later, Cyrus released a second album, but this time let the "regular" girl have a shot to shine as well. One disc was a follow-up soundtrack for "Hannah Montana," while the second was Cyrus' debut album. Cyrus co-wrote eight of the 10 tracks on the second CD.



Cyrus is reportedly on her way to a billion-dollar net worth by the age of 18 -- in addition to "Hannah Montana" paraphernalia, including everything from lunchboxes to a clothing line, Cyrus is working on her first feature film and a book deal.
